What Is the "This Is Fine" Meme?

The "This Is Fine" meme comes from the webcomic Gunshow, created by cartoonist KC Green.

In the original comic, a cheerful dog sits calmly in a room that is on fire while insisting that everything is fine. The scene quickly became one of the most widely shared reaction memes on the internet because it humorously reflects situations where people pretend everything is under control, even when it clearly isn't.

Today, the meme appears across social media, online discussions, and news articles whenever people want to describe a difficult or chaotic situation with a touch of humour.

Why Is It So Popular?

Part of the meme's appeal is its simplicity.

Almost everyone has experienced moments when work piles up, plans go wrong, technology stops working, or life simply feels overwhelming. Instead of reacting with panic, the character remains completely calm, creating a funny contrast that people instantly understand.

Over the years, the meme has become a symbol of staying calm during stressful moments, even if things are clearly far from perfect.

It has been adapted into countless versions featuring different characters, settings, and situations while keeping the same basic idea.
